Marta is a specialist anaesthetist, trained in both the United Kingdom and Aotearoa/New Zealand (holding both FRCA and FANZCA). She has clinical interests in major oncology anaesthesia and otorhinolaryngology anaesthesia.
During her clinical training, Marta completed a Master in Public Health Research (MPH) and a clinical PhD in Neuroscience. She is practicing as an anaesthetic specialist at Auckland City Hospital, Te Toka Tumai, Auckland New Zealand and simultaneously holds a Senior Lecturer appointment at the University of Auckland Department of Anaesthesia.
Currently she is Deputy Chair of the Auckland Human Research Ethics Committee. Marta is reading for a Masters in Practical Ethics at the University of Oxford to gain a deeper understanding of ethical precepts and arguments.
Marta is considering focusing her dissertation on AI ethics in medicine and biomedical research, and the impact of AI driven medicine on disadvantaged or marginalised populations.
