Dr Peidong Mei is a Research Fellow in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Exeter and the Alan Turing Institute. She obtained her Ph.D. in Psychology from Lancaster University. She is currently working on the research project, Bluebird, to design a theoretical framework and assessment tools that promote safe, explainable, and trustworthy use of AI in air traffic control systems. Her research interests generally lie in moral decision-making in human-AI interaction, moral development in children, cognitive behavioural modelling, and the application of various research methods and technologies in social dynamics. At Oxford, she is keen to understand the determinants that affect people’s perception of AI in its safe deployment in various industrial applications, through the lens of moral psychology.
