Owen is currently reading for his MSt in Practical Ethics at the University of Oxford. Owen has obtained a full graduate scholarship for his studies as part of the prestigious Crankstart Academic Futures scheme aimed at the "the very best minds from across the world....to create new ideas, insights and innovations to change the world for the better". Owen graduated with a LLB law degree from the University of Sussex in 2011, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law (BPTC) from City St Georges, University of London in 2012 and a Masters in Liberal Arts with a specialism in Management from Harvard University in 2023 graduating with a Dean's List Certificate for Academic Achievement.
Owen is qualified as a lawyer in the UK (both as a Barrister and Solicitor-Advocate) and in the US (New York Bar Attorney).
Owen's research interests lie in end-of-life ethical issues and he has worked with Marie Curie on research into the effectiveness and methodologies of Advanced Care Planning (ACP) which is being presented at the World Public Health Palliative Care conference in Switzerland in October 2024, it is also due to be published in the Palliative Medicine journal in 2025.
Owen plans to write his thesis on the ethical issues around neurointerventions in criminal justice.
