Professor Carsten K.W. De Dreu

Carsten K.W. De Dreu (PhD 1993, University of Groningen) is professor of Social Psychology at Leiden University, and Behavioral Economics at the Center for Experimental Economics and Political Decision Making (CREED) of the University of Amsterdam. He is an elected fellow of the Association for Psychological Science, and the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences, and a former president of the European Association for Social Psychology. He studies the neurobiological and psychological underpinnings of group decision making, creativity, and conflict and cooperation within and between groups. His research has been published in Science, Proceedings National Academy of Sciences, Psychological Bulletin, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and awarded with the 2014 Kurt Lewin Medal from the European Association of Social Psychology, and the 2015 Hendrik Muller Award of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences.
