Takanobu Watabe is a graduate student in philosophy at Kyoto University (Japan). His main research interest is philosophy of well-being and personal relationships, as well as Kyoto School philosophy, especially the Zen Buddhist philosopher Shin’ichi Hisamatsu. Currently he is working on the question, “In what condition is a personal relationship ideal?” by associating discussions in analytic philosophy with Kyoto School philosophy and care ethics. Takanobu received his BA in International Liberal Arts from Akita International University (Japan) after studying at the University of Aberdeen (UK).
