Zoe Ritchie is a PhD Candidate in the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Rotman Institute of Philosophy at Western University (Canada) and a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (Government of Canada) Doctoral Fellow. She earned her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Ethics, Society & Law and Political Science from Victoria College, University of Toronto (2019). Zoe is developing expertise in health science, critical qualitative research, legal studies, and clinical ethics/bioethics. Her doctoral research investigates the epistemic authority of neonatologists in shaping key ethical principles, such as best interests and futility, in the context of shared decision-making for neonates with life-threatening/limiting conditions. Zoe has contributed to significant qualitative research projects with the Health Ethics, Law, and Policy (HELP) Lab and the Childhood Rehabilitation Ethics Disability (CRED) Research Team at Western University. Her work on neonatal, paediatric, and end-of-life care ethics has been featured in the BMC Journal of Medical Ethics, The Hastings Center Report, and the Canadian Journal of Bioethics.
