Erika is a senior neurosurgery resident working in Halifax, Canada. She completed her BScH at Queen's University in 2013, followed by her MD at Dalhousie University in 2017, and then began her neurosurgery residency training program in Halifax. Her future career plans are to pursue a critical care fellowship, with a focus in neuro-critical care, and then combine neurosurgery and ICU. She has put a pause on residency to enroll in this MSt program, along with the Clinician Investigator Program, and plans to complete both in 2022. The intersection between the neurosurgical patient population and the world of ethics was part of the pull towards this program, and her research interests include decision making and end-of-life issues, along with medical assistance in dying.
